Day 1:


Depart for South Africa on an overnight flight to arrive the next morning. If this is not convenient or you can get a better deal, if you book an earlier flight, then please let us know and we will plan accordingly.



Day 2:


Your guide will meet you upon your morning arrival in Johannesburg at O R Tambo International Airport. From here we depart for a short township tour of SOWETO for a glimpse of neighbourhood life and to reflect on the apartheid history of South Africa. This vibrant city is home to a host of interesting attractions, such as the Twin Towers and Freedom Square, as well as Vilakazi Street which is the only street in the world where two Nobel Peace Prize recipients resided namely Archbishop Desmond Tutu and the great Nelson Mandela. Included in this tour is a visit to the Nelson Mandela “Matchbox” House Museum and then the Apartheid Museum. You might like to get a bite to eat at the Truth Café found at the museum complex. Afternoon check-in at a charming lodge found on the East Rand. Enjoy a welcome dinner this evening with fellow travellers and your local accredited guide who will also be the tour manager.

Day 3:


Today we travel east to the province of Mpumalanga meaning the “pulling of the sun” or “the land where the sun rises”, also known as “Paradise Country”. We drive along the “Panorama Route” of the Transvaal Drakensberg Mountains with its breathtaking vistas. Here you can view the imposing Three Rondavels and admire the stunning scenery of the Blyde River Canyon which is one of the deepest in the world. We also pay a visit to the spectacular Bourke’s Luck Potholes and God’s Window. Lunch can be had en-route and dinner will be served at the lodge’s restaurant. Overnight in the beautiful Sabie River Valley.

Day 4 & 5:


Depart for the world-renowned Kruger National Park, a national treasure which is known to be the most biodiverse park on earth with 140 mammals, 119 reptiles, 55 amphibians, last recorded 506 bird species and about 1980 plant species. Spend the next two days off the beaten track on safari in the central Kruger region, an area teeming with zebra, wildebeest & giraffe which are the main prey for lions! Dinner on the first night will be served as a traditional “potjie” stew and the next night as a “braai” barbeque. Both meals will be prepared by your guide and cooked over an open camp fire. Overnight in Kruger, undeniably Africa’s finest wildlife reserve.

Day 6:


You can look forward to another trilling day out on safari in the Kruger National Park. Travel north through Kruger to continue your search for the “Big 5” animals, as well as a host of other animals and wonderful creatures found within their natural habitats. Tonight dinner will be served at the lodge restaurant after which you can then relax with a drink around the campfire. There is no better place in Africa to get closer to nature than to stay within the boundaries of the Kruger National Park. Listen for any nocturnal visitors and even reminisce with your fellow travellers on all that you will have already seen on this safari. We are sure your guide would also be itching to tell you a couple of stories about the bygone days of Kruger when pioneers and outlaws explored, hunted and even settled in the harsh territory of the Eastern Transvaal. Overnight in Kruger.

Day 7 & 8:


Depart after breakfast from Kruger. Travel through Venda, which is known to be “The land of Legends”. The Venda’s are the smallest ethnic group in South Africa. They have staunch traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation which has transpired into an extremely interesting culture. Spend the next two nights at Leshiba, a quaint private nature reserve nestled within a remote area of the scenic Soutpansberg Mountains. Arrive in time for afternoon tea and a well deserved afternoon at leisure at this unique luxury Venda style lodge that was built on the foundations of an old traditional Venda village. All meals and activities are included with your stay. The next morning we go on a guided archaeological (rock art) trail that offers an enlightening and mystical venture into the past. In the afternoon you can enjoy an open vehicle drive and “sundowners” - complimentary drinks at sunset in the bush.

Day 9:


We are off on another adventure with an exciting travelling day that lies ahead. Depart early after breakfast for the border post and Botswana. Cross the great grey green greasy Limpopo River into Botswana, previously known as Bechuanaland. From here we travel via the towns of Selebi-Phikwe and Francistown to Nata, the gateway to Botswana’s rich natural beauty. A picnic lunch can be enjoyed en-route and dinner will be served at the lodge’s restaurant under the stars and the cover of a huge acacia tree. Overnight near the village of Nata.

Day 10:


This morning we take an included open vehicle safari to the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. Visit the Nata Bird Sanctuary known for its plentiful birdlife and Sowa (Sua) Pan which is one of the largest salt pans in the world stretching 252 km² (97 m²). Return for breakfast, after which we depart for your lodge found in the town of Kasane that overlooks the Chobe River and a stretch of land in Namibia known as the Caprivi Strip. This area is recognized for its large herds of elephant and Cape buffalo, as well as its prolific birdlife and the abundance of game such as hippo, crocodile, sable antelope, red lechwe and puku antelope. Lunch can be had en-route. Arrive early afternoon at your destination in order to have some time at leisure to relax or just take it easy by the pool. Overnight on the fringe of the Chobe National Park.

Day 11:


Discover the Chobe National Park and “Big 4” animal country on an early morning open vehicle safari. Return for breakfast where you then have the rest of the day to relax at the lodge, with its beautiful setting along the Chobe River or join an optional excursion. This afternoon we head back into the Chobe National Park on a sunset river cruise which will allow you the possibility to get “up close and personal” with an array of animals and birds. Overnight in Kasane - Botswana.

Day 12 & 13:


After breakfast and a leisurely morning we cross the border at Kazungula into Zimbabwe. Check-in at your lodge where you can then enjoy lunch, before we join a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. Beverages and snacks are included on this excursion. This experience will undoubtedly be one of your highlights on this tour, as there are not many better ways to reflect on how good life can be than to be floating along the mighty Zambezi River, watching the sun set over Africa, whilst sipping a refreshing drink. The next day after breakfast we visit the spectacular Victoria Falls, one of the “Seven Natural Wonders of the World”. The falls was named after Queen Victoria by Dr David Livingstone, who was the first European to view the falls on 16 November 1855. This powerful cascade of water, which stretches a mile wide and flows thunderously into a 360 feet deep gorge, is known to the locals as Mosi-oa-Tunya meaning “The Smoke that Thunders”. The rest of the day is yours to explore the town of Victoria Falls independently with its numerous open air art & craft markets, galleries and shops selling detailed wood carvings, artistic local stone sculptures, beaded jewellery and authentic pieces of African art, or you could consider joining one or more of our recommended optional excursions. Both evenings in Victoria Falls are at leisure and dinners can be enjoyed at your lodge’s restaurant or at a restaurant of your choice found in or near town.
