Day 1:

Depart for South Africa on an overnight flight to arrive the next morning. If this is not convenient or you can get a better deal, if you book an earlier flight, then please let us know and we will plan accordingly.

Day 2:

After being met on arrival in South Africa’s oldest city nicknamed “The Mother City” you’ll be transferred to your hotel that is ideally located on the Atlantic seaboard near the famous seaside town of Camps Bay situated on the outskirts of the city of Cape Town and on the Cape Peninsula. Beautiful Cape Town is one of the great thriving port cities of the world. It is nestled between the stunning Table Bay and the majestic Table Mountain. The Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa overlooks the rugged Cape coastline of the South Atlantic and is dramatically flanked by both Table Mountain and the towering Twelve Apostles Mountain Peaks. Your evening meals over the next couple of days can be enjoyed at the excellent restaurant found at the hotel or anyone of the numerous restaurants in town. The rest of this evening is at leisure.

Day 3:

Today we take a drive around the scenic "Cape Peninsula". Drive along the Atlantic seaboard, a coastline scattered with rocky outcrops, soaring mountain peaks and pristine white beaches washed by clear turquoise blue waters. After our stop at the fishing village of Hout Bay, one of Cape Town's best kept secrets, we continue along the magnificent Chapman’s Peak Pass to the legendary Cape of Good Hope, which is the most southwesterly point on the African continent. The Cape of Good Hope nature reserve is known for its indigenous fynbos vegetation of the Cape Floral Kingdom, which is the smallest, but also the richest of the world’s six floral kingdoms. Although this reserve is famous for its flora, it is also home to the mischievous Cape chacma baboon, as well as a variety of rare animals such as the Cape mountain zebra, bontebok, eland, rhebuck and the caracal (African lynx). We then visit Cape Point, a place of mythical beliefs, as it is here where you will find the confluence of the Indian and Atlantic oceans. From here we start making our way back towards Cape Town along the False Bay coastline, stopping for lunch at a famous seafood restaurant found in Simonstown. After lunch we visit Boulders Beach penguin colony to see the endangered African penguins. On our return to the city we head for Table Mountain, where you can then (weather permitting) take the cableway to the top of this iconic mountain. The cable cars with their large glass windows rise slowly over the fabulous Mother City and Table Bay, allowing for some of the most magnificent views you will ever see anywhere in the world. Evening at leisure. Overnight near Cape Town.

Day 4:

Cape Town has so much to offer visitors and this is why you have this day at leisure to do your own thing! Relax, shop, or explore the city and surrounding areas independently.

A great way to do so is to join a tour on the “hop-on hop-off bus”. One of the routes will take you out to the acclaimed Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens, with its grand setting against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain or you could take the route through the city that passes South Africa’s oldest building, the Castle of Good Hope, built in 1666 and City Hall, a splendid baroque building with its balcony overlooking the Grand Parade. It was here where the great Nelson Mandela made his first public speech as a free man on his release from prison on 11 February 1990. On this tour you could also hop-off at the Moorish Bo-Kaap (Malay Quarter) or the beautiful Dutch East Indian Company Garden to see the gardens, Parliament Buildings and Tuinhuis (Garden House). Visit St. George's Cathedral, the Anglican Diocese of Nobel Peace Laureate, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, as well as the National Art Gallery, National Museum and Planetarium.

Visit the posh seaside suburb of Camps Bay, with its popular beach. Beach Road is lined with cafés, bars, and restaurants. This is a great place to spend an afternoon and to get a bite to eat while watching the sun set over the South Atlantic.

You may also use your free time to visit Robben Island an island found about 11 km (7 miles) off the coast of Cape Town in Table Bay. The notorious prison, located on the island, is where Nelson Mandela and other South African political prisoners were incarcerated.

For the energetic, you could take a hike up Table Mountain. For the brave, you could go shark cage diving.

Evening at leisure. Overnight near Cape Town.

Today we tour the spectacular wine lands countryside of the southwestern Cape where you will find towering, rugged mountains, rolling valleys lined with manicured vineyards and elegant 350 year old wineries built in the unique Cape Dutch style architecture. Wine tastings can be enjoyed at various wine estates found along the Cape’s world-renowned Stellenbosch Wine Route. We will also spend some time in the picturesque and historical towns of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. Lunch will be served at MIKO at Mont Rochelle, overlooking the beautiful Franschhoek Valley. With its covered terrace, guests have the option of dining alfresco all year round. MIKO’s cuisine is best described as a taster to South African favourites.
