Day 3 & 4:
We will transfer you after breakfast to Johannesburg’s O R Tambo International for you to catch your flight to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, where you will be met on your arrival. Transfer to your lodge found on the outskirts of the town of Victoria Falls. After check-in and some time at leisure, you join a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. Beverages and snacks are included on this excursion. This experience will undoubtedly be one of your highlights on this tour, as there are not many better ways to reflect on how good life can be than to be floating along the mighty Zambezi River, watching the sun set over Africa, whilst sipping a refreshing drink. The next day after breakfast you join a guided tour for a visit to the spectacular Victoria Falls, one of the “Seven Natural Wonders of the World”. The falls was named after Queen Victoria by Dr David Livingstone, who was the first European to view the falls on 16 November 1855. This powerful cascade of water, which stretches a mile wide and flows thunderously into a 360 feet deep gorge, is known to the locals as Mosi-oa-Tunya meaning “The Smoke that Thunders”. There will be time after the tour to explore the open air art & craft market and / or to join our recommended optional excursion, as well as to get a bite to eat before returning to your lodge for a relaxing afternoon away from the hustle & bustle of Victoria Falls town. Gorges Lodge, built on the edge of the Batoka Gorge, is famous for its spectacular views over the gorge and the rushing waters of the mighty Zambezi River below. Dinners can be enjoyed at your lodges’ restaurant.
