Accommodation:

  • Accommodation is subject to availability, if our first choice accommodation is not available we shall endeavour to supply comparable facilities.
  • The standard of the accommodation that we recommend is on average a lot better than our grading, due to the fact that we selected the best accommodation available for each category at each location.

Car Hire:

  • Various car hire groups as per your budget.
  • Hire from Cape Town / Return to Cape Town.

Day 1:  

Our representative will be at the airport to meet you on your arrival in Cape Town, he / she will hand over your travel documents (vouchers). Collect your hired vehicle at the rentals office at the airport. Depending on the time of your arrival, you could visit Table Mountain on the way to your hotel, as the general rule in Cape Town is to take the cableway up Table Mountain as soon as possible (when it is open). Overnight in Cape Town on the V & A Waterfront.

Day 2 & 3:  
Drive north through the “Klein Karoo” (semi desert area) and along the scenic “Route 62” towards the Mountain Zebra National Park. Visit the Cango Caves, the town of Oudtshoorn with its ostrich farms & ostrich feather palaces as well as the historical town of Graaff-Reinet known as the “Gem of the Karoo”. Overnight in Oudtshoorn & Graaff-Reinet.

Day 4 & 5:  

Spend the morning in the Karoo National Park and the “Valley of Desolation”, before driving to the Mountain Zebra National Park with its invigorating crystal clear air, beautiful scenery, tranquil ambience and an abundance of wildlife. This is a park that offers you a special and personal African wilderness experience. Situated near Cradock in the malaria-free Eastern Cape, this national park was originally proclaimed in 1937 to save the dwindling Cape mountain zebra population. Now, at over 28 000 hectares the park boasts a conservation success story, protecting over 600 zebra, as well as wildlife such as endangered black rhino and the cheetah. Overnight in the park.

  • Morning and / or sunset open vehicle safari.
  • Tracking cheetah on foot.

Day 6:  
After breakfast and a leisurely morning, you depart for the renowned Addo Elephant National Park. This is the only park in the world that boast with the “Big 7”, namely – Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Cape Buffalo, Rhino, Whale and the Great White Shark. Overnight in the park.

Day 7:  
Another day to relax in the African bush and to continue with your search of the “Big Seven” and a host of other animals. Overnight in the park.

Optional activities:

  • Sunset / evening safari in an open vehicle with a park ranger.
  • Morning safari in an open vehicle with a park ranger.

Day 8:  

Drive down the road to Port Elizabeth, also known as the “Friendly City”. Visit the historical city centre and then after checking-in at your hotel you could spend the afternoon at leisure on a golden beach washed by the warm Indian Ocean. Dinner can be enjoyed at one of the numerous restaurants found near your hotel. Overnight in the city of Port Elizabeth overlooking “Mandela Bay”.

Day 9:  
Travel along the “Garden Route” towards Knysna, visit the “Big Tree”, the Storms river mouth suspension bridge in the Tsitsikamma National Park and Bloukrans – “Highest bungee in the world” (You don’t have to jump!!!). Lunch on route. Our recommended restaurant for tonight is the “Dry Docks” found on the waterfront. Overnight in / near Knysna.

Day 10:  
A day at leisure with time to relax and enjoy what Knysna has to offer, this is a good place to do some shopping. This afternoon you could take the ferry across the lagoon to the Featherbed Nature Reserve for a 4 x 4 trailer-ride tour and hike through the reserve. Evening of leisure. Our recommended restaurant for tonight is “34° South” found on the waterfront. Overnight in / near Knysna.

Day 11:    
Drive to Cape Agulhas the “Tip of Africa” and then along the south east coast to Hermanus, which is known to have “the best land based whale watching in the world”. Even out of the whale season (December to May), it is still a beautiful little seaside town to visit. Overnight in Hermanus.

Day 12 & 13:     

After a morning at leisure in Hermanus you depart for the wine lands. Spend the next two days exploring the stunning scenery of the Cape’s world-renowned Stellenbosch and other    surroundings wine routes. Enjoy some excellent wines with wine tastings and cellar tours at some of the numerous renowned wine estates found along these routes. Also visit the quaint historical towns of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl. Overnight on one of the estates.

Day 14, 15, 16 & 17:  

Drive to Cape Town for a couple of days at leisure. You could:

Take a scenic drive around the “Cape Peninsula”. Visit Hout Bay and the Cape Fur Seal colony on Duiker Island, Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, Cape of Good Hope, Cape Point and the Boulders – penguins. Have lunch at one of the numerous restaurants in Simonstown before your visit to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens.

Or

Do the following optional activities – a city orientation tour of South Africa’s Mother City on the “hop-on hop-off bus” or visit a local township or visit Robben Island where Mr. Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 17 years or on a hot sunny day you could visit one of the numerous beautiful beaches found around the Cape or for the energetic – take a hike up Table Mountain or for the brave – shark cage diving. Overnight in Cape Town on the V & A Waterfront.

Day 18:  

Morning at leisure. Time for last minute shopping and lunch at the V & A Waterfront. Weather permitting, you could do an optional helicopter flight over the “Cape Peninsula”. Then drive to Cape Town International Airport in order for you to catch your onward flight or flight home. Drop-off your rental vehicle at the airport.
