Day 1:

Your guide will meet you on arrival at Johannesburg’s O R Tambo International Airport . Travel via Middelburg, Dullstroom, Lydenburg and Sabie (Long Tom Pass) to Hazyview situated in the province of Mpumalanga.Visit the old gold rush town of Pilgrim’s Rest a museum in its entirety. Depending on availability – enjoy some African culture with singing, dancing and dinner at Shangana, a traditional Shangaan village, meet the chief with his 3 wives and 36 children. Overnight in Hazyview.

Day 2:

Travel the “Panorama Route” of the majestic Drakensberg Mountains, admire the natural beauty of God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the Blyde River Canyon, which is the third deepest canyon in the world. Lunch along the way, then it is off to the world-renowned Kruger National Park (KNP), enter the park through Orpen Gate. Enjoy the rest of the day in the KNP. Overnight in the KNP.

Optional activities: Sunset open vehicle safari with a park ranger.

Day 3:

Enjoy a full day travelling south in the KNP in search of the “Big 5” and a host of other animals. Overnight in the KNP.

Optional activities: Early morning bush walk with the local game rangers.

Day 4:

We depart from the Kruger National Park via Crocodile Bridge Gate. Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast on route before entering Mozambique at the Komatipoort border post. Travel to Maputo where we then catch our 15 minute charter flight to the tropical island of Inhaca. The island is set in the Indian Ocean, whose calm, warm waters are perfect for leisure pursuits. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight on the island.

Day 5 and 6:

Spend these two days relaxing on the island or enjoy a host of optional activities, such as deep sea charter fishing trips for the opportunity to catch King / Queen / Mackerel / Tuna and Barracuda, excellent snorkelling at Santa Maria Bay, 4 x 4 drives / hike to the historical lighthouse or take a romantic sunset boat cruise to Portuguese Island. Dinners will be served at the hotel or at the one and only Lucas Restaurant, which serves up superb food. Overnight on the island.

Day 7:

After a leisurely breakfast we make our way back to the mainland by plane or boat. Travel back to South Africa via Komatipoort border post and again through the KNP to White River. Overnight near White River.

Day 8:

Return to Johannesburg the commercial hub of South Africa via Nelspruit, Waterfal-Boven, Machadodorp and Middelburg. This afternoon there is an included township tour of Soweto – reflex on the “Apartheid” era of South Africa’s history. There might even be time for last minute shopping before we say our goodbyes at the airport.

Recommended – Cape Town Add-on Tour:

Travel to Johannesburg in order to catch your flight to Cape Town. Your guide will meet you on arrival in Cape Town. He / she will then transfer you to your hotel. Dinner can be enjoyed at one of the numerous excellent restaurants on the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Overnight in Cape Town on the V & A Waterfront.

Day 9:

Take a scenic drive around the “Cape Peninsula”. Visit Hout Bay and the Cape Fur Seal colony on Duiker Island, Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, Cape of Good Hope, Cape Point, Boulders – Penguins. Optional and weather permitting – we take the cableway up Table Mountain. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Cape Town on the V & A Waterfront.

Day 10:

A day at leisure, where you can do the following optional activities – a city orientation tour of South Africa’s beautiful Mother City on the “hop-on hop-off bus” or visit a local township or visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 17 years or visit to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens or visit one of the numerous beautiful beaches around the Cape or for the energetic – take a hike up Table Mountain or for the brave – shark cage diving. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Cape Town on the V & A Waterfront.

Day 11:

Wine tastings and a cellar tour at various wine estates along the Cape’s world-renowned Stellenbosch Wine Route, also spend some time in the picturesque towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Enjoy dinner at one of the excellent restaurants in town. Overnight in Cape Town on the V & A Waterfront.

Day 12:

Morning at leisure. Lunch at the V & A Waterfront, time for last minute shopping and weather permitting an optional helicopter flight over the “Cape Peninsula”. We will transfer you to Cape Town International Airport in order for you to catch your flight home.
