Day 1 & 2:

Board your connecting flight from Johannesburg or Cape Town to Durban’s King Shaka International Airport, where your guide will meet you on arrival (escorted tour) or collect your vehicle upon arrival at the airport (self-drive tour). The coast of KwaZulu Natal is known as the “Golf Coast” of South Africa. Drive half an hour up the coast to Stanger for an afternoon and evening at leisure or squeeze in a little golf practice at this excellent facility. The next day you have a morning tee-off at Prince’s Grant Golf Club, which is ranked amongst the best in South Africa. The stunning coastal scenery, allied with the magnificent conditioning, makes this a “Must Play” destination for golfers of all abilities. The course is laid out over four ridgelines overlooking the Indian Ocean. Sweeping, majestic views over the ocean view with spectacular coastal forest, to make this one of the most scenically lovely courses in South Africa. But it is the quality of the course design and the lovingly groomed condition of greens and fairways that make Prince’s Grant a bucket list course for many golfers. This afternoon you could visit the historical site and museum in the town of Stanger (KwaDukuza) which is the place where Shaka, King of the Zulu’s was assassinated and buried. Overnight near Stanger or Ballito.

Day 3:

Travel a short distance back along the north coast of KwaZulu Natal to Umhlanga Rocks, which is a modern seaside town just north of Durban with it’s sub-tropical vegetation and beautiful beaches that are washed by the warm Indian ocean. On route, you have an early afternoon tee-off booked at Zimbali Country Club. Zimbali is another one of those difficult picturesque courses that makes this area live up to its reputation. The course offers irresistible ocean and forest views, exceptional water and wetland features and an inspiring natural setting, Zimbali Country Club has developed the reputation of a memorable course with charisma and challenge. Overnight at Umhlanga Rocks or Ballito.

Day 4:

Drive down the road to Durban for a morning tee-off at Durban Country Club. The course, overlooking the Blue Lagoon estuary and the Indian Ocean, has hosted the South African Open 17 times, including the centenary SA Open in 2010, this is more than any other club in South Africa. It has also been rated South Africa’s No 1 golf course for years and the “par 5” third hole is rated the best third in the world. Playing from a high tee to a narrow fairway with dense bush and a predatory bunker on the left hand side you’ll see why this is the most popular hole on the course. Durban Country Club is a shot makers course that you have to think your way around. Most golfers don’t make use of their driver until well into their round due to the narrowness of the opening holes. Afternoon at your own leisure or time for shopping or spend sometime relaxing at the beach. Overnight at Umhlanga Rocks or Ballito.
