Day 1:

Your guide will meet you upon your arrival in Johannesburg at O R Tambo International Airport. Depart to Soweto for a township tour that reflects on the “apartheid” history of South Africa, whilst visiting sites such as the Hector Pieterson Museum, Nelson Mandela’s “Matchbox” House, Vilakazi Street (only street in the world to have had two Nobel Prize winners as its residents) and Regina Mundi Catholic Church, before heading to our charming little lodge in Kempton Park – Johannesburg.

Day 2:

Travel via Middleburg, Dullstroom, Lydenburg and the old gold rush town of Pilgrim’s Rest to Hazyview situated in the province of Mpumalanga. This evening, if local conditions permit, you may like to visit Shangana traditional village to learn about the life, customs and traditions of the Shangaan people, visit the local healer and watch their singing and dancing while sharing a traditional feast in typical huts. Overnight in Hazyview.

Day 3 & 4:

Depart for the world-renowned Kruger National Park (KNP), enter the park through Phabeni Gate. Spend the next couple of days in the park in search of the “Big 5” and a host of other creatures. The KNP is known to be the most diverse park in the world with 140 mammals, 119 reptiles, ± 506 bird, 55 amphibians and ± 1980 plant species. Dinner will be served on the first night in Kruger at the camp restaurant and on second night you can enjoy a traditional “braai” – barbeque prepared by your guide. Overnight in the KNP.

  • Day 4 – Sunset or evening open vehicle safari with a park ranger.

Day 5: 

Depart from the park after an early morning game drive, breakfast on route. Travel the “Panorama Route” of the majestic Drakensberg Mountains, admire the natural beauty of the Blyde River Canyon – third deepest canyon in the world, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God’s Window and Pinnacle Rock. Dinner can be enjoyed at the lodge’s restaurant. Overnight near White River.

Day 6:

We will transfer you after breakfast and a leisurely morning to KMIA (Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport) to catch your direct flight at ± 13h35 to Cape Town (± 2 ½ hours). Your guide will meet you at the airport on your arrival in Cape Town. He / she will transfer you to your hotel via Table Mountain. Optional – Time & weather permitting, you can take the cableway up Table Mountain. Overnight in Cape Town on the V & A Waterfront.

Day 7:

Tour the “Cape Peninsula”. Take a cruise from Hout Bay to Duiker Island to view a Cape Fur Seal colony. Drive via Chapman’s Peak Pass to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve with over 2800 species of Fynbos plants, visit Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope which is the most south-westerly point of the continent of Africa. Enjoy some lunch in Simonstown, before a visit to the Boulders – African penguins. Evening at your own leisure. Overnight in Cape Town on the V & A Waterfront.

Day 8:

A day at leisure, where you can do the following optional activities – a city orientation tour of South Africa’s beautiful Mother City on the “hop-on hop-off bus” or visit a local township or visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 17 years or visit to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens or visit one of the numerous beautiful beaches around the Cape or for the energetic – take a hike up Table Mountain or for the brave – shark cage diving. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Cape Town on the V & A Waterfront.

Day 9:

Set off after breakfast for a venture into the wine land country near Cape Town. First stop is the delightful town of Stellenbosch, rich in history with the most impressive Cape Dutch architecture. You will have time to wander the oak-lined streets, before continuing to the picturesque town of Franchhoek for lunch. This afternoon, you have wine tasting and a cellar tour at one of the local estates. Overnight in Cape Town on the V & A Waterfront.

Day 10, 11 & 12:

We will transfer you this morning to Cape Town International Airport in order for you to catch your early morning flight to Johannesburg and then your connecting flight to Livingstone – Zambia or Victoria Fall – Zimbabwe. Spend the next 3 x nights on the banks on the mighty Zambezi River. Visit one of the natural wonders of the world and there is no finer place to immerse yourself in the majesty of the Victoria Falls. Overnight in Livingstone or Victoria Falls.

Optional activities:

  • Open vehicle safari – Chobe National Park
  • Afternoon – Sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River
  • Visit to Livingstone Island in the middle of the Zambezi River on the edge of the Vic Falls
  • Tiger fishing on the Zambezi River
  • Scenic flights over the Victoria Falls
  • Visit the Victoria Falls from the Zimbabwe side
  • Various adventure activities

Day 13:

After breakfast and a leisurely morning we will transfer you to Livingstone Airport or Victoria Falls Airport in order for you to catch your flight back to Johannesburg to connect to your flight home.

Included:     Air ticket – KMIA to Cape Town / Cape Town to Johannesburg to Livingstone (Victoria Falls) & return to Johannesburg, accommodation (3-4*), meals as indicated, transfers, transport / guide / porter-age where available/ conservation fees and entrance fees to places of interest in South Africa.

Excluded:    Air ticket – International, passport / visa fees, airport taxes, travel insurance, phone calls, gratuities, beverages, purchases of items of a personal nature, excess baggage and optional excursions not included in the tour.
